A Voice You Can Hold
A memorial gift for a voice you can no longer call. The voicemail you have not deleted. The recording you have replayed. We give it a body.
Begin →Deterministic from your recording · Printed once on archival materials
A moment
There are voices you have stopped expecting on the other end of the line. The recordings remain. We give them a body: printed once, on archival paper, set on the wall where you can see them without searching.
Strata · Stretched Canvas, 20×30″
From recording to room.
Each example begins with a specific sound and ends as a wall-mounted artwork: composed for the room, faithful to the recording.

Why
-
Why a sound
The recording on your phone is finite. The voicemail you've forwarded to yourself three times can disappear in a software update. Archival paper does not. Hahnemühle cotton rag, printed once, lasts a hundred years and longer. Often chosen as a sympathy gift or remembrance gift for those who have lost a parent, partner, or friend.
-
What you'll receive
Museum-quality framed prints on Hahnemühle German Etching paper: 310gsm cotton rag, archival pigment inks, solid wood frames. Fine art giclée prints on the same archival paper, unframed. Hand-stretched canvas for a bold, contemporary statement. Or a luminous acrylic panel that floats from the wall. Built to outlast a lifetime. For older recordings (voicemails, dictaphone tapes, transferred cassettes), the engine works with any clarity. We will tell you what the engine can and cannot resolve before you commit to anything.
-
Not AI, never AI
Every Vox Materia piece is produced by hand-crafted algorithms, not neural networks. The same audio always produces the same artwork: a deterministic translation of sound into form, faithful to the recording you give it. Your audio is private. It is processed once to render the artwork, then discarded; never used to train anything, never shared. If you choose to make the piece playable, we securely store your audio for QR code playback on the print — only the QR code gives access, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Without playback enabled, nothing is kept after the artwork renders.
Process
-
Capture
Upload a voicemail, an old recording, a transferred cassette. The engine accepts anything with a waveform.
-
Expression
Eight algorithms, each a different visual language. Pick the one that feels right.
-
Materialise
Choose paper, canvas, or acrylic. Preview the finished piece on the wall it will hang on.
-
Realise
Printed by specialist partners on Hahnemühle paper, shipped worldwide. Arrives wrapped and ready to hang.
